Persuasive essays are a difficult task for many students, because they are based on the idea that the writer has a strong opinion on an issue. It is also difficult to draw a line sometimes, and notice the point when your persuasion has become hostile and insulting.

  • DO have an opinion
  • The core of an argument essay is your opinion about a certain issue, which is based on the conviction that there is no better answer to the problem at hand. You are trying to convince a third party to understand and appreciate your point of view, and there is no room for you to doubt your position. You can incorporate other opinions, but only to show them less significant than the one you are advocating for.

  • If you choose good examples, which go well with the data that you selected, you can make an excellent point with little effort. Think of a situation that you or your friend has encountered, present it to your readers and explain how it is connected to the point you are trying to make.

  • DON’T make up false stories
  • Again, it is crucial that you appreciate your audience and believe that they are intelligent persons that will not be fooled with cheap tricks. If you make up a story that proves your point, he will know that, and so will your professor. Stick to the facts and to the things that you know, and if you present a solid logic you will have no problem.
